About Dynamic Osteopathy

Why Dynamic Osteopathy?

We have been asked this question many times and so will take this opportunity to set the record straight...YOU DO NOT NEED to be feeling dynamic to have treatment with us!

The word dynamic was chosen to indicate the integration and inter-relationship of all aspects of a person’s life – their body, its functions and their emotional well-being – all these areas need to be working harmoniously for optimum health. This is one of the principles of osteopathy.

Also dynamic can also mean energetic and positive in character, and we aim to help you achieve a little of this through osteopathic treatment and improved vitality and health! A positive outlook has been proven to help improve the natural healing ability of the body. It also improves your posture...it’s almost impossible to ‘walk the walk’ and ‘talk the talk’ with a depressed slouched postural position, and it can work both ways...try it and see!

The Osteopath

Dynamic Osteopathy is run by Osteopath Zena Hewett. She is a fully qualified Osteopath and is registered with General Osteopathic Council (GOsC), and also a member of the British Osteopathic Association (BOA). Zena completed her osteopathic training on an honours degree course with the College of Osteopaths (London).

Zena enjoys treating a wide spectrum of people - young and old - fit and inactive – male and female. She has special interests in the treatment of babies and children.

Zena also holds a Diploma in Sports Injury and Massage, and is a Qualified Infant Massage Instructor having taught baby massage to hundreds of families locally over the last four years. She has run classes, courses and workshops for groups of local families, as well as Health Visitor run post-natal classes along the south coast. She has given demonstrations and talks for groups of teenage parents through the West Sussex County Council Early Years Team.

On a personal note... Zena is married with two teenage daughters, and enjoys cycling her Batavus bike, sailing, pilates, Tai Chi, cross-country walking and agility with her dogs, and gardening.
