About Dynamic Osteopathy
Why Dynamic Osteopathy?
We have been asked this question many times and so will take this opportunity to set the record straight...YOU DO NOT NEED to be feeling dynamic to have treatment with us!
The word dynamic was chosen to indicate the integration and inter-relationship of all aspects of a person’s life – their body, its functions and their emotional well-being – all these areas need to be working harmoniously for optimum health. This is one of the principles of osteopathy.
Also dynamic can also mean energetic and positive in character, and we aim to help you achieve a little of this through osteopathic treatment and improved vitality and health! A positive outlook has been proven to help improve the natural healing ability of the body. It also improves your posture...it’s almost impossible to ‘walk the walk’ and ‘talk the talk’ with a depressed slouched postural position, and it can work both ways...try it and see!
The Osteopath
Osteopath Zena Hewett is the Principal of Dynamic Osteopathy, which she established in its original location in central Chichester in 2007. Zena has also previously worked as an Associate Osteopath at Southbourne GP Surgery, and as a long-term locum in a large Osteopathic group based in Fareham and Petersfield.
She is fully qualified, having completed a five-year honours degree with the College of Osteopaths (London), and is registered with General Osteopathic Council (GOsC). She is also a member of the British Osteopathic Association (BOA), and the Osteopathic - Obstetric, Pelvic, Respiratory, and Abdominal Association (OPRAA).
Zena also holds a Diploma in Sports Therapy and Massage, and is a Qualified Infant Massage Instructor having previously taught baby massage to hundreds of families locally over the years.
Zena enjoys treating a wide spectrum of people - young and old - fit and inactive – male and female. She has additional special interests in the treatment of babies, children and adolescents, as well as headaches related to neck pain, and chronic non-specific spinal stiffness.
On a personal note... Zena is married with two teenage daughters, and when not at the practice, she enjoys the great outdoors, especially cross-country dog walking, foraging, bushcraft, wild camping, and vegetable gardening.
